It should be fine as long as its a surface , could be a wall rail or a post .
I have no railings or posts and would mount these on the deck surface. Would the glare be horrible? Half Moon Cast Aluminum Deck Light
The deck is 10' X 20' and was thinking of 2 lights on the 10' side and 4 lights on each of the 20' sides. More for mood lighting rather than good visibility.
